ECRA offers a 12 week intensive, hands-on program covering all aspects of radio broadcasting.
Yes. The Eastern Connecticut Radio Academy has been approved by the Connecticut Department of Higher Education. (CDHC) This means that the ECRA curriculum, staff, and facilities have all passed the rigorous standards set by the CDHC.
The 2008 schedule for classes are:
March 3rd- May 22nd
July 21st- October 3rd
October 27th - December 18th
ECRA can in some instances provide students with financial through the school itself. Other financial aid can be obtained through institutions such as Sallie Mae and other local lending institutions.
Financial aid can be obtained easily through lending institutions such as Sallie Mae or your local bank. The only difference is that you're applying directly for the loan instead of through the school. It's that simple.
Getting your first job in radio is just as important to us as it is for you, which is why all ECRA students will have lifetime access to ECRA classes and studio's. This means we'll always be there when and if you need us even after you graduate. Whether it's coming in to update your On-Air Demo or sitting in with another class. Just think of your enrollment as a lifetime membership!
Unlike a typical 2 or 4 year college, ECRA offers small class sizes that offer personal attention. Maximum class size is 5 students.
All ECRA Graduates will receive a certificate of completion after graduating. But remember, it's what you learn and how you present yourself to potential employers that will land you your first job in radio, not a certificate of completion or a diploma..
ECRA is a state recognized Broadcasting School which means you're able to apply for an internship at any radio station of your choosing. Keep in mind the same radio station you're training at offers internships as well.
ECRA will honor scholarships if they qualify with our school's curriculum.
ECRA does not have any on-campus housing.
